Defending Your Decision to Teach
Becoming a teacher has it's pros and cons.
- Mainly pros but a couple of cons.

Money
Most people say "Why would you want to become a teacher? They hardly make any money!" This may be true but in my case I'd like to think I have the rest of my life to gain a lot of money. It's not about the money to me, it's about the students. Being able to teach them something that they never knew how to do in the first place, that's pretty incredible. Being able to change their lives every step of the way, you just can't put a price on that.Doing Something That You Love!
Becoming a teacher you are able to teach a subject that you might have a passion for. Take me for example I absolutely love math. I have always been a fan of math since I was in the 2nd grade! I could teach high school or middle school classes everyday about a subject I have a passion for. Being able to teach a student about a subject that I love and seeing them understand it, that to me just reassures me that this is the profession I love to be in. Little moments like those are worthwhile and won't make you think twice about the question "Why would you want to be a teacher?"
Summer Vacation!
Teachers might not get paid what they should get but they also have a whole three months of vacation plus a spring, Christmas, and Thanksgiving break. People who make 100 figures work all year round with little days off. If you ask me I think that's a pretty sweet deal.

Am I a Procrastinator?
Out of all the years that I have lived, I have established that I am in fact a procrastinator.
In my high school years almost every time that I get an assignment I have put it aside and waited till the last minute to start working on it.

In my AP English class we are constantly reading books such as The Scarlett Letter, The Great Gatsby, Death of a Salesman, Othello, and Heart of Darkness. In my opinion these books are extremely boring and there is no way I would ever read them on my own. Normally we would have a reading schedule that you should follow, but me being a procrastinator obviously put it off and was struggling to read 10 chapters in one night. These books are very detailed, complex, and hard to understand in just one night. I found myself doing poorly on quizzes due to this problem! I just found reading boring.

My Favorite Internet Teaching Resource(s)
My favorite teaching resource is PBS Kids.
PBS Kids is a real good source to go to if you're looking for activities for your classroom, media for the subject you are teaching, and lesson plans for the future. The thing that separates PBS Kids from all the other teaching resources is their search bar! In the search bar you can choose what grade you want, the subject AND the media type.
In my own personal experience I recall using PBS Kids to help me find ideas to come up with a lesson plan and have a "cute" little activity on the side. Currently I am an intern at Grace E. Hardeman and I help out with a 4th grade class. When I arrive the students are learning math and my objective was to find a way to help teach 3 digit long division. I went to PBS Kids and followed these simple steps.
- Go to the website - www.pbs.org/teachers
- Select your kids grade level
- Select your current subject
- Choose the media type you'd like
- Browse all the different ideas and select one or more that you would like!
PBS Kids is simply as pie! They make life easy for you, all you have to do is get crackin'!

Field Trips are Fun and Educational
My favorite field trip was when I was younger. I was about 8 years old and I was in a daycare place and we went to the movies. I just liked it a lot because I never been to the movies with a large group before. I believe we saw Scooby-Doo! If I were to take my own class on a field trip, we would go to Six Flags. We would go to Six Flags so they can ride the rides and determine the amount of velocity that is being use among other things. They would have to find the G-Force. They can also ride the Superman and calculate how much force is used to take up all the people and bring them back down.

What would you do?
I believe being a new kid to a big school is a very scary situation coming from experience. Mark made friends on Facebook by being funny which is nice. Facebook is a new way to make tons of friends and meet people from across the world. Facebook is rapidly growing!

When Mark saw the picture of the new girl from a post that a kid made I believe he should have told the principle. He could have gone with this in many ways, but the smartest one would be for him to go to the principal and tell him the situation about the photo. He could have also just left it alone and no be apart of it but if Mark has good morals then he should get someone in a higher demand to take care of the situation. Also the creator of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg has made it to where if a photo may be offensive he can click a button and report it as bullying or in another topic.

My Year as an Intern
This year as an intern has been the utter most best experience in my life. I have had the chance to experience what it's like to be a teacher and help teach the students. Some of the ups in being an intern is having that feeling after you just helped a student understand how to do a problem and them getting it and learning. Some of the downs in being an intern personally is very hard to come up with because there really isn't anything bad about being an intern but coming up with lesson plans can be tricky at times but being an intern is amazing.
The author of the poem Roller Coaster refers to nausea, personally I would refer to it as adrenaline. Just because I am pumped every day that I know I'm going to my field site and I get to teach the kids something new and they are expanding their brains every day its amazing! My elation this year is meeting my mentor Crys Aigner she has to be one of the most incredible teachers ever, she has so much energy to her and is ready to start the day, she's just very energetic and it gets all her students pumped for the day and ready to go.
I am forever committed in becoming a teacher because it is just such a great job and being able to motivate children and make them strive for the best that they can be is beyond this world. I have learned many things from my mentor such as being positive, having energy, motivating the students, keeping the kids interactive she literally does it all and I am very honored that I get to call her my mentor. I believe her being my mentor has been a great advantage to me because I took all those characteristics that she has and have tried to do the same thing.
Personally there isn't anything that I would have changed about this year everything just fell into place like it was destine. It's been a great year and I don't regret anything at all, I can't wait for next year when I get to do it all again.
